when I noticed a familiar name,
Linda Sue Park.
I had seen her name before….
“Hungry, hungry, hungry for some bee-bim bop!”
She wrote one of our favorite children’s book,
I read one of her other books, When My Name Was Keoko. This book, an historical fiction, is about the struggles of a Korean family during the period of Japanese occupation.
I highly recommend reading any of Linda Sue Park’s books. Our older one enjoys the storyline, and he gets to collect 39 Clues cards to read more about the characters. I believe one of the characters is also a Korean or Korean-American, but you’ll have to ask your little reader to get more details.
What other books add a little Korean culture in the mix? What would you recommend?
