It’s that time of year again.
Piano Man worked on another biographical project of a famous historical figure.
Here are some of his past historical figures:
This year, Piano was none other than….
His teacher let students pick from a list of famous people from Michigan. Piano Man chose to be none other than the prolific inventor.
To be honest, I didn’t know that Mr. Edison hailed from Michigan. Well, he lived in Michigan for a few years, but that was the extent of his life in Michigan. He lived the majority of his adult life in New Jersey.
But as an upper elementary student, this year was different. He wrote a longer paper. He conducted more research and incorporated it into his writing.
Every year, this project requires a costume and props, and I usually make something out of paper to help Piano Man embody his character. A quick search on Google revealed a select number of photographs of Mr. Edison’s fashion style – a three-piece button down suit, bow tie, and light bulb. Luckily, I purchased a navy blue suit jacket on clearance over a year ago, and Prof had a navy vest that looked adorable on Piano Man.
In order to complete his look, I made a white paper wig, 3D light bulb and navy blue felt bow tie to complete his look. If you are interested in those tutorials, those are up next!
