Happy New Year!
How was your holiday?
I’ve had a nice break from blogging, while still working on developing content on other social media platforms. (I’m still #laterggramming photos from our holiday on Instagram.) But I’ve also been thinking about rebranding the blog, or making some slight modifications.
If you’ve been following on Pinterest, I am developing several culture & inspiration boards by country. It’s been a great resource to learn about a country’s culture via visual imagery. This means a slight change in content. It’ll be more about sharing culture – festivals, art, folk/traditional crafts, photography, travel and more.
There’s something else I’d like to add this year – a theme.
Visual images, friendly discussions, and photography has got me thinking about light. Light has so many connotations. It’s what we need to see around us. Light teaches us about science. It can be a powerful tool to create beautiful images. To be enlightened gives us a sense of wisdom about an issue or topic we’re learning about. Thus, weaving the theme of “light” will add focus and a sense of direction on the blog that I’ve been searching for.
Where did the theme of light come from?
Well, some research led me to the United Nations webpage; this year, the UN has declared 2015, “The International Year of Light, as a global initiative which will highlight to the citizens of the world the importance of light and optical technologies in their lives, for their futures, and for the development of society. It is an unique opportunity to inspire, educate, and connect on a global scale.”
Thus, this year I plan to add more posts on culture and light.
Are you ready for new chapters and adventures in 2015?
From my hometown to yours,
P.S. Don’t forget to come back when I share a art giveaway by a typography artist in Utah! Stay tuned!
