I’ve been on a sewing roll lately. Pulling out old remnant fabrics from Jo-Ann Fabrics from my bins has got me in the mood to create again. We’ve been reusing old postal boxes that loved ones sent care packages over the years. They are functional and restore order to our busy household, but can look unsightly when guests come over.
Me: “No! Why must my kids pull out everything to find that one glove?”
What an unsightly mess…
Thanks to a yard of remnant fabric and another 3/4 yard of another remnant piece, I was able to make….
…a lovely basket over for my two cardboard boxes and white basket. Now they match and don’t look unsightly.
Me: “There you go, accessories. You now have a nice place to go and rest.”
Total cost to make these = approximately $5.00
The look in my house = priceless.
Thanks to a little creative use of remnant fabric and some time on my hands, I’ve been able to make our house a bit more presentable.
Now if only I could get our little one to stop wearing his winter accessories in summer weather.
What are you creating this summer?
