(If you subscribe to Hometown Betty, you will get access to this lovely General Grievous template and other freebies in my library. Enjoy!)
Step 2. Trace LEGO General Grievous template onto cardboard (x2).
Step 3. Cut out cardboard pieces (x2).
Step 4. Cut a long three-inch strip of cardboard.
Step 5. Tape cardboard strip to both sides of LEGO General Grievous cardboard pieces.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to leave an opening at the bottom to add step 6.
Step 6. Cut two slits for plastic zip tie or string to hold piñata.
OPTIONAL: I chose to give my piñata a bit of angular design, making General Grievous’ face “look down” on party guests.
Also, I added four cardboard pieces inside my piñata to ensure that I can angle of the piñata has some stability.
Step 7. Once the basic shape of the piñata is complete (except for the bottom of the piñata), add white paper with glue.
This will be a pseudo paper mache approach, but slightly modified to quickly cover the piñata.
Cut and make little tabs to secure white construction paper over cardboard.
Step 8. Add candy.
Step 9. Close the piñata.
Step 11. Cut fringe on white crepe paper.
Step 12. Start from the bottom and wrap fringed crepe paper around the piñata.
You can skip one side of the piñata, since you will be adding General Grievous’ face after the fringe has been added.
Step 13. After the piñata has been wrapped, glue the face of General Grievous on the front of your piñata.
Step 14. Voila, Project completed!
