Who doesn’t love Star Wars?
Last spring I made a simple LEGO Star Wars Happy Birthday Banner for Piano Man’s classmate, and he was thrilled to have a handmade LEGO Star Wars Banner with his name. It worked out perfectly because his name is Liam.
Piano Man asked for a similar look without the LEGO font.
As I began working on the banner, he said he was looking for something more like this:
As I search for Star Wars fonts, I stumbled upon a cool font site called fontmeme, which gives you plenty of Star Wars-styled font options, as well as color choices and sizes! (Wishing that I found the site before, I tried my hand at making both font styles – block print and outline print.)
For the purposes of this tutorial, I am sharing the outline version. Continue reading and enjoy!
Step 1. Print and cut out Star Wars font letters.
You can purchase the templates in my shop.
Step 2. Tape black card stock horizontally in sets of three or four, depending on length of letter layout. Flip black banner over to layout Star Wars letters.
Step 3. Layout Star Wars font letters. Some letters naturally look better when overlapped. Cut pieces to give a custom look.
Step 4. Once you’re satisfied with the layout and font width on your banner, glue letters to black card stock banner.
Note: I checked my measurements from the first letter and last letter to the edge of the banner (approximately 3.5 inches).
Step 5. Optional: Add string to your banner to tie up or use painter tape to tape banner to a flat wall.
Step 6. Voila! Project Complete!
