Continuing with the Star Wars theme, I bring you another super fun, easy, and budget-friendly way to add a little Star Wars flair to your little one’s birthday cake. It’s very similar to the LEGO Happy Birthday Cake Topper Banner, which is one of my top five posts on the blog. And if you’ve made the Star Wars Happy Birthday Banner for your party room, then this cake will be a nice match to your fabulous birthday decor.
The Star Wars Cake Toppers instructions are in two sections: 1) Happy Birthday Banner, 2) Battle of Yavin scene with TIE Fighters, X-Wing Fighters, and Death Star.

Section 1. Making the Happy Birthday Banner
Step 1. Download and print templates.
*Download Star Wars Birthday Cake Toppers Here*
Step 2. Cut template letters and images.
Step 3. Cut black card stock into squares, pennant, or any other style you prefer. I chose a simple lengthwise rectangle.
Step 4. Glue letters to black card stock pieces.
Step 5. Add small 1 1/2 inch strips to back of mini-banner.
Step 6. Feed string through and tie to skewers.
Step 7. Voila! Letters are done!
Section 2. Make TIE Fighters, X-Wing Fighters, and Death Star Cake Toppers (aka Battle of Yavin)
Step 2. Resize images to fit your cake. I used there different sizes to create a foreground, middle ground, and background. Print on white card stock paper, and cut out as many fighter jets as you like.
Step 3. Tape toothpick to card stock.
Step 4. Voila! Project Complete!
I’d probably ice the cake with black frosting, and then sprinkle white dotted sprinkles to reflect an atmospheric cake design. Once I have strategically decided where to place all the cake toppers into the Battle of Yavin battle scene, then I’d place the birthday candles. Just make sure the candle isn’t too close to the paper cake toppers.
