I’ve been holding onto another sewing project for over a year. Yes, I am that slow when it comes to sewing. I think it must be the timing of it all, especially when Prof is away for several weeks. That’s when my sewing machine comes out, and I start working on projects.
When I bought a pretty light blue/teal remnant fabric from Jo-Ann Fabric’s, I didn’t know what to do with it because it was such a short piece (less than a half a yard of fabric). But one day, Prof was ready to say goodbye to a similar colored dress shirt, and it turned out to be a perfect match!
Are you ready to make this?
I draped the remnant piece around the collar of Prof’s dress shirt, and thought I could get to this simple DIY project within weeks. Well, it’s been over a year, and it’s time that I cut his dress shirt to match the width of this lovely piece of fabric.
Here, I’ve already stitched one side together…
Just gotta cut off the tail of the dress shirt and sew up the other side.
Then a little hemming and…
Voila! Project complete!
Nicely paired with my collarless moto jacket from Gap, and I think it gives adds a pop color to this gray jacket.
